Zoe the vet came again today on a routine visit and Einstein was gelded. He’s just a year old so before he’s turned out for the summer we took the opportunity to catch up with the routine bits and bobs. All foals born as of last year are, by law, having to be microchipped, along with their passport. So not only had Einstein had his bits taken, he was microchipped , and wormed. He’s feeling very sorry for himself.
As well as the gelding we took the opportunity to have Jack checked out. He flew though the vet’s check proving he had a sound heart, as we knew Jack had been worked quite hard for a young horse and has a bit of tension in his muscles on his top line and in particular at the poll. So we are organising a back massage to help ease that tension as soon as possible. His teeth just needed a bit of minor work and had obviously been checked in the past. So overall it was good news.
